Logging in to My Account

The Login page lets you log in to your individual user account (called "My Account"). Your user account is a record of your personal information, any items that you have currently checked out, any holds that you have requested, blocks on your account, and any lists that you have created or saved. Depending on your library policy, you may need to set up a Personal Identification Number (PIN) with the library staff before you can log in to My Account.

Tip:  If you do not have a user barcode and the Login page displays a New User button, you can register yourself with Information Portal and receive a temporary barcode. This way, you can use the library's services.

To log in to My Account

  1. Click the My Account tab or click the Login icon on the Toolbar.

  2. Enter the barcode from your library card or any other user ID that Information Portal requests in the first field.

  3. If prompted, enter your PIN in the PIN field.

  4. Note:  If you have forgotten your PIN, some libraries allow you to reset or recover it. You will see a Forgot PIN (or similar) button on this Login page. This feature allows you to either reset the PIN or recover the information, depending on how your library has configured it.

     
  5. Click Login.

Information Portal displays the Account Overview page listing the different functions that you can access from your user account.

  1. When you are finished, log out of your user account.
