Searching for library items

Information Portal lets you search for items in your library in several different ways. You can use the Basic, Advanced, and Power search tools to enter search criteria and locate library items at your specific branch or library location. You can also review your past searches using the Search History.

Searching Tools

By default, Information Portal provides three levels of searching tools on the Search tab:

Tip:  If you are searching for an item by the author's name, enter the author's last name in the Search field. (For example, if you were searching for books by Nathaniel Hawthorne, you would enter "Hawthorne, Nathaniel" in the Search field.

Search History

Information Portal saves a temporary record of your searches to your Search History. After you have finished a search, you can use the history as a shortcut to re-run or edit the search.
