Requesting a hold on a library item

After doing a search, you may want to see if a particular item is available for checkout. You can do this by requesting the item. If the item is available, Information Portal directs you to check the shelves. If the item is not available, you can make a hold request. The library will then hold the item for you when it becomes available. You can request the first available item or a specific item (or copy of the title).

To request a hold on a library item

  2. Do one of these options:

  4. If you want to request a specific item, display the detailed information about the title (or the full bibliographic information) and click Request Copy next to the copy that you want.
